Children from Lyneham Primary School have been given an insight into the construction industry.
They were visited by a team from Hercules, part of the partnership between Kier Group and Balfour Beatty which is building the new armed forces training facility at Lyneham. The team spent two days with pupils. In addition to helping improve a conservation area they did a plant demonstration and took part in a school assembly.
Julie Carr, deputy head at Lyneham Primary School, said: “Thank you for bringing team Hercules over to Lyneham Primary. We all loved having you in school.”
Roger Frost, Hercules project director, said: “It was a delight to meet the children and give them an insight into our role to construct the UK’s first joint armed forces training facility.”
A £250 contribution was also made to the school for trips, and staff brought along tools and materials to help work on the conservation area.
