A DRUG dealer who was involved in the supply of heroin and crack cocaine has been jailed for 16 months.

But Mkumbi Sokoni, 24, may not have to serve any more time behind bars as a result of the sentence because he received 32 months in jail in April for similar offences.

Sokoni was jailed last year for his part in the supply of hard drugs to undercover police in Faringdon Park, Swindon, in August and September 2013.

And after hearing he was not arrested for that until after the new offences, which all took place around the same time, a judge decided he would not extend his time inside.

Sokoni was a front seat passenger in a car which was stopped at the Lackham roundabout on the A350 on November 5, 2013.

Although he did not have drugs on him, when his mobile phone was examined it was found to contain numerous messages relating to supply.

Hannah Squire, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court that one of the women in the vehicle had stored 15 wraps of heroin and 11 of crack cocaine ‘'plugged’ in her body.

Sokoni, formerly of City Road, Bristol, pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs.

Sarah Iles, defending, said her client’s release date from his current sentence was Tuesday, August 4.

Although the two matters were dealt with separately by the police, she said they were really all part of the same drug dealing he was carrying out at the time.
