THE much-loved Somerset music legends, The Wurzels, are to play at an open-air music event in Chippenham next weekend.

They are topping the bill on the afternoon of Sunday 9 July, at a Party in the Park organised by Spartan Gym co-owner and World WCA kickboxing champion Carl Mallinson.

Also performing are Nuttyness, one of the best Madness tribute bands in the country. The event in Monkton Park starts at 10am and ends at 6pm.

Bucket collections will take place to raise funds for the Wiltshire-based Help for Heroes charity that supports armed forces veterans.

Carl said: “What better way to relax, reflect and unwind than to socialise with family and friends. Families can enjoy a funfair, stalls, bouncy castles and trade stands.

There will also be a BBQ and a licensed bar and, for the more energetic, sports clubs will put on displays demonstrating their various interests.

Tickets, priced at £15 for adults, £10 for older children and £5 for Under 10s, are available from Spartans Gym. Family tickets for two adults and two children are available at £40.
