Creative talent from across the region was rewarded when the winners of this year’s Pound Arts Open were announced last Friday night.

Judges read out the names of winning artists at a preview event for the contest’s exhibition, which runs until December 19 at the Corsham arts centre, in Pound Pill.

First prize of £500 went to Tara Parker-Woolway for her piece Frisky Chicks. Connie Addison won £250 for second place with Tree Ferns, West Dean and Sally Jeffries won the Corsham Print Prize for Breakfast with Vincent, which will be made into postcards.

Charity Colborne, marketing assistant at The Pound, said: “We had around 100 people turn out to see who the winners were.”

Visitors will be invited to vote for their favourite work on display, with the most popular winning the People’s Prize of £150.
