CHILDREN gave hints to Santa at Corsham Town Council’s annual wishing tree event on Saturday.

About 50 youngsters had their wishes put on the tree, in the High Street.

Those who missed out will get another chance at the Christmas lights switch-on, from 5.15pm to 7.30pm on December 7.

Council spokesman Sharon Thomas said: “The wishes were all put on the tree and they’ll, hopefully, help Father Christmas pick the right gifts.”

There was a collection for the MS Society, a charity selected in honour of Paralympic swimmer Stephanie Millward, who has multiple sclerosis.

She will switch on the festive lights next week.
