Paralympic swimming sensation Stephanie Millward will be switching-on Corsham’s Christmas lights outside the Town Hall at 6pm on Friday.
Former Corsham School pupil Miss Millward, who won four silver medals and one bronze during this summer’s Paralympic Games, will be helped by children Anay Verma, Owen Cox and Emily Calladine, the winners of the Corsham Town Council Christmas tree decoration competition.
The event will begin at 5.15pm, with a Christmas market in High Street and music from The Corsham School, Corsham Windband and the Pound Sound choir.
There will also be jugglers, dancers and of course an appearance by Santa and his reindeer, with late-night shopping also taking place. A community art project, led by artist Mazy Bartlett and a group of the town’s school children will be unveiled at the switch-on.
