Characters from a galaxy far, far away descended on Corsham, as a comic store celebrated two decades in the town.
Star Wars characters including Darth Vader and his Stormtroopers invaded Automattic Comics on Saturday, as owner Matt Booker celebrated his 20th year in business in the town.
He said: “A couple of hundred people came along and there were 10 mates of mine in costume. They went about and mucked around town, sitting on the lion in the Martingate Centre, and Darth Vader was swinging from a lamppost like in Singin’ in the Rain.”
Science fiction author David Johnson and filmmaker Luke Palmer hosted a session at the library, speaking with local writers, and screening a fan-made sequel to Back to the Future, which was partially shot in Corsham.
Mr Booker said: “Geek culture has become a lot more acceptable and we sell to all ages. I have travelled to conventions all over the world and I wouldn’t want to come home to anywhere else.”
