Hotel and restaurant At the Sign of the Angel has been brought back to life thanks to brothers Tom and Jack Nicholas.

The historic inn in Lacock closed its doors in January and remained empty until the pair took on the lease in June, officially reopening for business last Wednesday.

Tom, 28, and Jack, 31, who also run Whitley Golf Club in Melksham, have spent three months putting their own stamp on the building and have been “chomping at the bit to get it open”.

The team has also had a great response from the community.

Tom said: “Everyone’s been very supportive, asking how we are getting on and asking when it was going to be back open.

“We want to keep it quite unpretentious, relaxed and quite a cosy place to go.

“It has a farmhouse sort of feel, almost home from home for people to come and sit down and enjoy a hearty meal.”

The restaurant has capacity for up to 50 and five guest rooms. Call At the Sign of the Angel on 01249 730230.
