BROKEN zips, furniture and electrics can be fixed on Saturday at Corsham Repair Café’s first event of 2015.
The repair café is run jointly by Pound Arts and green group Transcoco.
The aim of the quarterly events is to help people mend broken household items, rather than bin them.
People can bring broken goods and get expert help in fixing them on Saturday, from 2-4pm, at The Pound arts centre.
Pip Parker, of Transcoco’s Waste Group, said: “We throw away piles of stuff which can be used again after a single repair.
“Unfortunately, many people have forgotten that they can have things repaired, or, with assistance, learn to mend things for themselves. This can save money, resources and waste.
“We are working to change this with our free repair café. We hope that everyone who has made a New Year resolution to make do and mend can come along and learn to repair for free.”
