8:30am Friday 7th December 2007 in Corsham By Katie Adams
CORSHAM Town Council is planning a night to remember when the Christmas lights are switched on tonight.
Street entertainers including Jake The Juggler, a bazaar and the GWR Black Thunder crew are just some of the attractions planned.
Town clerk David Martin said: "We are all really looking forward to it, it's going to be the best year ever I think.
"There's going to be so much going on and the lights are all up in preparation."
Ruby Roberts, the overall winner of this year's Christmas card competition, will have the honour of lending a hand to GWR presenters Jez and Roo who will officially switch the lights on.
Last weekend, the town council in conjunction with the Pound Arts Centre invited people to decorate the Christmas Wishing' Tree in the High Street.
People were able to write wishes on paper, which were then tied to the branches with white ribbon.
North Wiltshire District Council has granted free parking for tonight's event in their Corsham car parks.
Parking charges will be suspended from 3pm today to encourage as many people as possible to come along.
