Release date for Wiltshire-link movie

A HOLLYWOOD blockbuster filmed partly in Lacock is set to hit cinemas next month.

Scenes for The Other Boleyn Girl were shot at Lacock Abbey in 2006 and stars include Scarlett Johansson, Natalie Portman and Eric Bana.

At the time of filming, people in the area had been left excited at the prospect of so many movie stars descending on the area.

BBC film bosses closed large parts of the Abbey including the Cloisters for filming in October 2006.

Visitors were still allowed into the Abbey but were unable to get near camera crews or the stars.

Great Chalfield Manor near Melksham was also used to in the filming of the epic, which is about the relationship between King Henry VIII and Mary Boleyn, the sister of his wife Anne.

Other stars involved in the production include Kristin Scott Thomas from Four Weddings and a Funeral and The English Patient. The film hits the big screen on March 7.
