Man admits abusing two young girls in Corsham

A man has admitted raping a girl when she was under seven years old.

Gareth Evans, of Wellington Road, Bilston, Wolverhampton, raped and sexually abused the girl when she was four, five or six and also molested another girl when she was about 11.

The 31-year-old carried out some of the offences in Corsham between the start of 2007 and the end of 2009.

He admitted rape of a child under 13 when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

He also pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual assault of a girl under 13 and one of causing a child to engage in sexual activity.

Kerry Maylin, prosecuting, said Evans had also admitted possessing child porn.

The case was adjourned until July 13, for probation and psychiatric reports. Evans was remanded in custody until then.
