Teddy bears picnic fun to be had at Lacock Abbey
12:20pm Friday 3rd August 2012 in Corsham
The unusual sight of teddy bears on zip wires will be the finale of a teddy bears’ picnic at Lacock Abbey, near Chippenham, on Tuesday, August 14.
Children can volunteer their teddies for this exciting adventure and watch from the lawn below as the intrepid bears fly down over 12 metres to safety below.
The event takes place from 11am to 2pm in the Botanic Garden at the historic National Trust place. The zip wire launch is at 1.30pm.
Rachael Holtom, Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust at Lacock said: "We love hosting the teddy bears’ picnic. It’s great to see so many youngsters enjoying the grounds.
"This year we welcome back Fez the Jezter, with his amazing and funny magic show and Wiltshire Scrapstore who will be creating teddy-inspired crafts for children to make and take home.
"There will also be a teddy bear picnic trail and children can decorate a tree with pictures of their own teddy."
Visitors are invited to bring along a picnic, drinks and something to sit on. Normal admission charges apply and there is free entry for children with their teddy bears, National Trust members and under-fives.
