Sing carols at Shaw for Air Ambulance
10:02am Thursday 13th December 2012 in Melksham
John and Sandra Phillips, volunteers with Wiltshire Air Ambulance, with the Christmas Wish Tree at Lowden Garden Centre
For the last few weeks Lowden Garden Centre in Shaw, near Melksham has been inviting people to support their Christmas Wishes Tree, which this year is raising funds for the Wiltshire Air Ambulance.
People who want to remember loved ones who may not be with them at Christmas have written messages on labels which have been tied to the Christmas tree.
Wiltshire Air Ambulance asked the garden centre to help set up the idea to allow people to leave messages of love to family and friends who are no longer with us at Christmas time.
Anyone who has left a message, or has still to add their festive memory, is invited to come to the centre on Sunday at 3pm to join in with the carol signers, the mayor of Melksham and representatives of the charity in a small celebration of all the good wishes made over the last few weeks.
Caroline Corrigan, of the Air Ambulance Appeal, said: “We are really excited to have started this celebration and hope to make it a special event that helps us all remember the spirit of Christmas.”
