‘Distraction burglars’ arrested
4:00pm Sunday 13th January 2013 in Melksham
TWO men were arrested in Melksham on Sunday after a distraction burglary in Sainsbury’s car park.
One man lay down behind a car as it reversed, pretending he had been hit by it. When the driver of the car got out to check on him his accomplice stole a purse from inside, before the two men fled the scene.
Police later stopped a car on Semington Road and arrested two men in connection with the theft. One of the men was found to be in possession of cannabis, and was issued with a caution for that offence.
