The Get a Knit On project at Sainsbury’s in Melksham has now finished and the store is delighted with the result.
They would like to say a huge thank you to everybody who knitted Easter chicks and eggs – customers, friends, family and colleagues and a special thank you to Corsham Knitting and Crochet Club which made over 200 items.
The project raised £552.98 for the West Wilts Special Needs Activity Scheme.
Diana Malling said: “It is so heartwarming to have so many people in the local community getting involved. Customers have been coming in asking for patterns so they can help out as well.
“All this work would have been in vain if it were not for all the lovely people who also came into store and bought the items. Having had such a great response and raised so much money it is definitely something we will be doing again.”
