Police have spoken to a man after an incident involving a girl who was anxious about being followed on the way to school this morning.
A call was made to Wiltshire Police just after 8.30am to say a pupil was concerned that a man had followed her as she made her way to Melksham Oak Community School.
She had run home to tell her family, who reported it to the police.
Wilshire Police investigated the incident and confirmed there was no physical contact between the man and the student.
Police increased their patrols in the area and liaised with the school about the incident.
Sgt Ben Huggins posted on Twitter: "Reports of man acting strangely in Melksham have been investigated and male spoken to. His behaviour posed no risk to public."
