A man who is accused of unfair trading in relation to work he offered to do on driveways has been released on bail by a judge.

Frank Webb, 57, is said to have not told one householder about her right to cancel a contract over work to clean outside her house in Whitley, near Melksham.

Webb is also said to have changed the price for the work, in February, from £90 to £150.

During the same week he is also charged with other offences under Consumer Protection From Unfair Trading Regulations in the village.

Wiltshire County Council, which is bringing the prosecution, alleges he made false representation regarding the replacement of a concrete pathway and block paving.

No charges were put to Webb, formerly of Hay Lane, Wroughton, but now living in Bath Road, Swindon, during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.

Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to Friday, December 2, and released Webb on bail until then.
