A man was arrested and charged with a breach of the peace, after worried parents and staff at Aloeric School in Melksham contacted police on Friday to report that a man was shouting and swearing in the street nearby.
Officers are now working with the family of the 26-year-old, who they had also spoken to the day before after a teenage girl ran home, alarmed by his behaviour, as she was on her way to Melksham Oak School.
Police said the man’s behaviour poses no threat to the safety of children but said they appreciate how distressing it can be to children and parents to have a person shouting at or near them.
Police were first notified last Thursday after the girl felt frightened and concerned by the man’s presence as she walked along Coronation Road and Spa Road to Melksham Oak Community School.
