Game store owner Shaun Bailey will be opening his doors for the final time tomorrow and is thanking the people of Melksham for all their support over the last 10 years.

Mr Bailey, 50, of Calne, has decided to close Gamingalore in Bank Street and leave the industry which he feels is drastically changing, as he can no longer compete with the prices supermarkets and online websites offer.

He said: “I am incredibly sad I have made this decision but it is a business decision. I would rather the people of Melksham saw me have a successful business and close on my terms.

“I have no business debts and I do not want to get into a position where I am forced to close.”

In the time the store has been in the town it has become a hub for many children and adults to meet and socialise, paint figurines and play card games, leaving many customers sad to see the store go.

Mr Bailey added: “All I want is the people of Melksham to know how grateful I am, that they accepted me into their midst and continued to support me.

“I’ve been here 10 years when a lot of businesses have opened and closed in that time, so I am incredibly proud to be part of what we have achieved here and we have achieved it through the loyalty of the Melksham people and customers”.

Gamingalore will close tomorrow at 5.30pm and is having a 50 per cent closing down sale.
