A home meals service designed to help support seniors and their carers is now available in Wiltshire through established Trowbridge food delivery business Ashton Farms.

Ashton Farms, which is located in Turnpike Close, Semington, will be delivering weekly to local households, helping those who might find cooking for themselves or getting to the shops difficult.

The meals will be delivered in partnership with Winchester-based business On The Menu, which was launched by Elizabeth Jones in 2012 following the difficulties she faced when finding suitable meals while caring for her own mother.

Created by Elizabeth and a specialist team of dieticians and professional chefs to meet the needs of older people, the range provides well-balanced meals, which are low in salt, high in nutrients and vegetables, and are all fresh-frozen.

Partner Nick Waldon, sales director at Ashton Farms, is delighted to be supplying such a vital alternative to those who need it most.

Elizabeth said: “We are excited to be meeting such a real need in older people who might otherwise miss meals or eat unhealthy processed foods.

“We also deliver to Special Needs customers to help them live independently.”

The fresh-frozen meals have been developed by On The Menu to take into consideration the guideline daily amounts (GDA) set out by the British Heart Foundation and Cancer Research. Each main meal provides one of the recommended five-a-day, has a high protein level, and is low in salt and saturated fat.

Elizabeth said: “Our range aims to provide appetising meals that address the dietary needs of those with smaller appetites.

“We are now delighted to offer Home Delivery in Wiltshire in partnership with Ashton Farms.”
