A judge has put off passing sentence on a three-strike burglar so a psychiatric report can be carried out.

Lewis Morrison was due to learn his fate after admitting stealing £115 when he broke into a property in Kingsbury Square, Melksham, in May.

The 20-year-old, of Charlotte Square, Trowbridge, could get a mandatory jail term as he has two previous convictions for burglary.

But Tristan Harwood, defending, told Swindon Crown Court on Friday one reason the court may think it unjust to impose the sentence would be his mental health.

He said his client had not received adequate help for his attention deficit hyperactivity disorder.

The case was adjourned to January 9.
