Organisers of a music festival held in memory of a former Matravers School pupil have presented a cheque for £1,000 to children’s charity the Rainbow Trust.
Jayne and Phil Abbott set up Rickfest two years ago in memory of Jayne’s 18-year old son Rick Mills, who died after falling from a hotel balcony in Madeira in 2001.
More than 10 bands took part in this year’s 12-hour event, which was held in Westbury’s Paragon Hall in October.
The £1,000 cheque also included a donation from sponsors Cooper Tires in Melksham.
Mrs Abbott, 54, is now a support worker for the Rainbow Trust.
She said: “I’ve worked for the charity for six years and I understand the support that we can offer to families who are going through tough times.”
