PUPILS at Melksham Oak let their imaginations run wild during a poetry session with writer and performance poet Ash Dickinson.
Writing poems about superheroes to why penguins cannot fly were all part of the session with the pupils in year 8 on Tuesday, as part of a poetry module.
Mr Dickinson, who also works in comedy, has won multiple poetry slams, toured in Canada, and published a book called Slinky Espadrilles.
The performer spoke about what inspires him and he encouraged the children to write and use poetry to record their memories and feelings.
Teacher Rebecca McIver from the English faculty said it was a great way to start the New Year with pupils totally motivated.
