Wiltshire Air Ambulance was Stonar Prep School’s charity for the past year and the children have enjoyed raising money for the charity at several different events.
On Friday Jemma Brown from Wiltshire Air Ambulance visited Stonar to receive a cheque for £3,622.
Lottie, a Year 6 pupil who is the school’s charity leader said: “We’ve had two movie nights when we came to school in the evening in our PJs and snuggled down to watch a film.
“We have held a sponsored marathon (where we ran the equivalent distance of nine marathons), mufti days, a bonfire night, a disco and a dress-up-like-a-superhero day with loads of fantastic outfits on show.”
Children from reception to Year 6 fundraised. In the summer term, they covered 1,277 laps, equivalent to 234 miles during their swimming marathon.
As a thank you, Wiltshire Air Ambulance has invited pupils to visit its operations centre in Devizes.
