MELKSHAM Flower Club has handed over a £500 cheque to help the charity Wiltshire Young Carers.
The club nominated it as their charity of the year for 2014 after hearing about the work they do, providing support to children as young as five who look after their parents.
On Tuesday Alan Burke, a support worker at the charity, was presented the cheque at Spencers Sports Club in Beanacre Road.
Chairman Rosalyn Clarke said: “The money will go towards putting on some activities for those youngsters to enjoy and one-to-one counselling.”
Vice chairman Caroline Christopher added: “I said to Alan it was only a small amount, but he said it was not small to them and £500 goes a long way because they rely on donations.”
