Playforce in Bowerhill has been acquired by the landscape service company TCL Group.
The business in Pegasus Way, which was founded 17 years ago, designs and installs children’s outdoor play environments that fit in with school curriculums.
After receiving investment from the Business Growth Fund, which backs growing UK businesses, TCL Group, a provider of outdoor estate management and landscape installation services, has acquired Playforce.
The two firms want to take advantage of new opportunities in the education sector as purchasing power moves from local authorities to schools.
Simon Cashmore chief executive at TCL, which has its head office in Northampton, said: “Playforce is a leading brand in the education services sector, having completed 12,000 projects in education settings across the UK.
“We look forward to working with the management team to to further develop the business.”
