ROCKING Horse Nursery in Shaw, Melksham, has received a ‘good’ rating following a recent Ofsted inspection.
Last year they were rated as ‘requiring improvement’, however inspector Karen Prager visited the nursery last month and in the report published this week she praised staff for being welcoming and having a good understanding of children's learning and development.
The report adds: “Staff are caring and sensitive to children's needs. This helps children settle well and promotes their emotional well-being.
“Leadership and management of the nursery are strong and staff receive good support for their professional development.”
The pre-school cares for 67 youngsters and is based at The Old Brewery House in Bath Road, run by Fiona Mhairi Milner and has 13 members of staff.
To get an ‘outstanding’ rating inspector Ms Prager said the nursery should let the children develop their independence more and promote more opportunities for children to be creative.
