A FAMILY fun day to raise money so terminally ill children’s dreams can come true is going to be held in Melksham.

The event at The Bear on Saturday, May 16, from noon to 8pm, is raising money for When You Wish Upon a Star, which provides grants for poorly youngsters who dream of meeting their idols or visiting exciting destinations, in the hopes it will transform their lives during their difficult circumstances.

Entry is free and there will be a bouncy castle, face painting, a variety of stalls, as well as a BBQ, raffle, tombola and many other activities.

Organiser Shelley Davis said: “Hopefully this will be a real community event bringing people out for a fun few hours, at the same time supporting a very good cause which could affect anyone of us through our children and grandchildren.

“We hope to raise as much money as possible for this remarkable charity which is celebrating 25 years this year.”

Ms Davis, Claire Younger and Sue Georgiou are also competing in the London to Brighton 100k walking challenge later this month and in July the Race to the Stones race.
