Melksham Flower Club Achieves at Malvern Spring Show

A team of Melksham flower arrangers, Rosalyn Clarke, Ann Burgess, Sheena Sainsbury and Susie Rawstron, representing the SW Area of the National Association of Flower Arranging Societies entered the area exhibit at the Malvern Spring Show.

The title of the class was Symphony and the exhibit was inspired from A Colour Symphony by A Bliss (1922) and it consisted of suspended spheres embracing all the four movements of the symphony. All exhibits were judged by RHS standards and to the delight of everyone, the team achieved a Silver Medal.

Rosalyn Clarke said it had been a wonderful experience to be part of such a precious show and to achieve such a magnificent result, and that the teamwork of all four had greatly contributed to the vision of colour which was achieved. The flowers were supplied by Melksham florist Flowers in Focus, having been obtained from Holland.

This is a big year for SW Area who are celebrating their diamond anniversary: teams had entered Harrogate and won silver and created the major centrepiece in the flower arranging tent at Chelsea.
