POLICE are appealing for witnesses following an incident involving two motorists in Melksham which left one man with “life-changing” injuries.

The altercation happened last Tuesday on the A350 Western Way around 3.40pm when two men had stopped their vehicles just off the "Farmer's roundabout" - southbound - as the two lanes of the carriageway merge in to one.

Police would now like to speak to anyone who may have seen something out of the ordinary around this time.

The two vehicles involved were a blue Mitsubishi 4x4 and a silver Nissan Qashqai SUV.

One of the men received life changing injuries in the altercation.

He was taken to Bath's Royal United Hospital by road ambulance. He has since been moved to Bristol's Southmead Hospital where his condition is described as stable.

A 55 year old Melksham man has been arrested on suspicion of causing Actual Bodily Harm (ABH) and has been released on unconditional bail.
