A MELKSHAM man has been arrested following reports of him behaving inappropriately around schools in the town.
Parents were warned to be extra vigilant when dropping off and picking up their children at school after police sent out letters and emails.
According to social media account, parents numerous schools including Aloeric Primary were contacted about a male in his 20s who lives in Melksham behaving inappropriately.
Although the schools have not been given a detailed description, they have been asked to alert parents.
A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We can confirm that following reports of a risk to children in the Melksham area a man has been arrested. He has been released on conditional bail while our enquiries continue.
“At this stage it would be inappropriate to comment further except to say that we wish to reassure the local community that our investigation in to these reports will be thorough.
“Please remember that it is always important for parents/guardians to ensure that their children understand the stranger danger advice and know what to do if approached by someone they don't know. Anyone with concerns should contact the local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101.”
