A WHEELIE bin was set on fire in Melksham near the Queensway play area on Sunday, March 6 in yet another arson attack in the town.

Police were called to the scene at around 6.30pm after the bin and dry grass nearby were set alight, in the fifth case of arson since late January.

Three teenage boys were reportedly seen in the area around the time of the latest attack, with one wearing a dark red burgundy hoodie.

Between January 29 and February 4 four other incidents were reported to police in the Rowley Place and Queensway area, the first when the slide in the Queensway recreational park was set on fire.

Two bin fires followed shortly afterwards in Rowley Place, one on the same day and the other a day later, and finally a clothing recycling deposit bank was set on fire in Rowley Place.

At the time of the attacks police put out appeals searching for two teenage boys described as being around 6ft and 5ft 5in tall.

Anyone with any information should call 101.
