Police have appealed for witnesses after a serious accident which closed the A350 at Melksham yesterday.
The driver of one of the three vehicles involved had to be cut from his car and suffered severe cuts believed to have been caused by his sun roof shattering. Seven people were injured including two who were said to be in a serious condition.
Fire, police and ambulance crews were called to the road near McDonalds after a Honda Jazz swerved across the road, collided with a Toyota and turned over. A Peugeot Partner was also struck.
The driver of the Honda was trapped in his car and had to be cut free by firefighters from Melksham and Trowbridge. Swift Medics and the air ambulance were also at the scene.
The driver of the Honda is one of the two said to be in a serious condition. Five others were also taken to hospital by ambulance. It is understood the air ambulance, although at the scene, did not convey anyone to hospital.
