PUPILS at Melksham Oak Community School recently held the annual exhibition to display outstanding work from the Design and Technology department. On show were products from Years 7-13 covering Food, Graphics, Product Design, Resistant Materials and Textiles.

Head of design and technology Kirstie Jones said: "It clearly demonstrates that we have future designers with expert making skills which could be developed into a design career in the future .

"One of our A2 Product Design students has been accepted onto the MoD engineering apprenticeship out of 250 applicants - only 10 got through. And a Yr 13 textile student is off to study fashion at Gloucestershire University, which is extremely exciting.

"Our new Year 9s in September will be off to London to the V & A museum to the London Design Festival as part of the National Design Ventura competition, we look forward to researching current designs on the theme of Change.

"The Design and Technology department would like to wish all of our Year 11-13 students good luck on their next path, whether it is in design. If not you will use these design technology skills every day."
