JUST days after starting the new school year, pupils at Bowerhill Primary are being told to stay at home due to a sickness bug breakout at the school.
In a post to their website, the school said the bug has affected the entire school including headteacher Andrew Matthews.
The school is closed today and tomorrow.
The statement added: "We have made the difficult decision to close the school on Thursday and Friday to minimise the spread of infection.
"We have a specialist team of cleaners coming into the school, and our water system is also being tested tomorrow. The results of this testing will be sent to Mr Matthews on Sunday, he will the send a text message out to all parents updating them on whether the school will be open on Monday (September 12)."
