CHILDREN'S book James and the Giant Peach has been brought to life by Churchfield Primary School in Atworth to mark book week.
As pupils arrived at the school gates on Monday morning, they discovered that the entrance had been transformed into a giant peach.
The youngsters were joined by pupils from the school's Monkton Farleigh site and greeted by teachers dressed up as insects from the book to celebrate 100 years since Roald Dahl's birth.
Over the course of the week the children will let their imaginations run wild and take part in an array of activities before showing off their creations to their parents on Friday.
"They have found it terribly exciting and very funny seeing us teachers dress up as insects, whilst learning at the same time," said senior teacher at the Atworth base, Carys Ottner.
"The children have been making things, writing poems, taking part in quizzes and, of course, reading which they love."
