THE new Melksham rugby and football clubs’ base will be having an official key handover at the £7million club.
Oakfields, the name of the new facility, will be opening its doors after a number of delays. Originally scheduled for works to begin in 2015, the Woolmore Farm site is now ready for the rugby and football clubs.
Baroness Scott of Bybrook OBE, Councillor John Thompson and representatives of both clubs will be at the site off of Snowberry Lane on Tuesday (January 10) from 8.30am to officially hand over the keys.
The facility, which is made up of a 1,733 square metre building as well as 16 football and rugby pitches, will usher in a new era for the town’s sports clubs as well as see the Melksham Campus plans take another step in the right direction.
