FANS of television show Poldark are in for a treat as Great Chalfield Manor will be hosting a fundraiser for Dorothy House Hospice.
The ninth annual Snowdrop Open Garden event will be taking place on Sunday (February 12) at the manor in Atworth, near Melksham. The gardens, which are usually closed throughout the winter, are being opened especially for the event which last year raised £2,300 to help Dorothy House and the work it carries out.
Yvonne Brunton, community fundraiser for Dorothy House Hospice Care, said: “Regardless of the weather people make the most of the opportunity to visit this incredible garden and support Dorothy House, even if it means wellies and umbrellas.
"Our thanks to the generosity of Robert and Patsy Floyd for hosting the event for a ninth year and to the National Trust for giving permission for this fundraising event during their busy calendar of events.”
The gardens will be open on Sunday (February 12) from 2pm-4pm, with entry costing £4 per person.
