FORMER pupils and staff at Bowerhill Primary were invited to relive their schooldays at a celebration to mark 25 years since the school opened.

Organised by Alison Wheeler and Nicky Hobday, the event on Friday (April 7) at the school in Halifax Road looked back at the school's 25-year history.

Visitors were treated to a visual history, with old photographs of the school on display, as well as a presentation of events since the school opened.

“We had an art exhibition and each year group focused on a different topic which has taken place in the 25 years since the school opened," said Miss Wheeler.

"Year 6 focused on prominent women, and children included things like the invention of the iPad and the opening of Wembley Stadium."

Former staff and pupils were also given a tour to see everything that has changed at the school.

“It was lovely to welcome back people who may not have seen the school since the 1990s," said Miss Wheeler.

"We held a tour and showed them round the extra classrooms – there were six when it first opened and now there are 14.

"The day went really well and everyone seemed to have a lovely time,” she added.
