A MAN who sexually assaulted a 14-year-old, ignoring her tears and pleas to stop, while on a suspended sentence for asking another child to have sex with him, has been jailed.

Ian Allen plied the teenager with drink at a party and took her phone from her, before pulling down her trousers and touching her.

After hearing he preyed on her just months after being given a chance for making the vile request to another schoolgirl, Judge Robert Pawson jailed him for six-and-a-half years.

Allen, of Devonshire Place, Melksham, pleaded guilty to sexual assault. The 31-year-old will have to serve two-thirds of the sentence before he will be allowed to apply for parole and he will be on licence for another 18 months.

Colin Meeke, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court how Allen was with friends at a party in the flats where he lived on August 6 last year when the attack took place.

"She said she continued telling him to stop: she didn't want it. She told him she was 14 and he was 30," he said.

In April 2015 Allen was put on a suspended sentence after contacting another 14-year-old girl on Facebook and asking if she would have sex with him - a request he also made to his second victim.

Andrew Stone, defending, said that his client had changed his lifestyle greatly since the offence last summer.

He said that he had been offered a position with Land Rover as a mechanic but will not be able to take it up as he is facing jail.

Jailing him, Judge Robert Pawson said "It is quite clear to me that you used alcohol to facilitate this offence.

"It is quite clear to me having read the pre-sentence report you are still partly in denial for your culpability or blameworthiness. It seems the risk you present to children is 'imminent'."

Allen must also register as a sex offender for life and was banned from working with children.

A second man, Bradleigh Morris-Miles, 19, of Woodrow Road, Melksham, denied sexual assault and was found not guilty following a trial.
