A MELKSHAM mother is faced with a huge clean-up operation after a fire partially destroyed her teenage son’s bedroom.
Kate Conrath, of Bowman’s Court, began the operation on Sunday after fire crews from Melksham and Trowbridge had tackled the fire at her home.
She said on Monday: “It has destroyed my son Harvey’s bedroom. We’re not sure what caused it but it is not electrical.”
No-one was injured in the fire which began in a second floor bedroom of the three storey house.
A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said firefighters were able to stop the fire from spreading any further after being called to the semi-detached property at 9.56am.
The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and all services isolated. It is not yet known what caused the fire.
