FIREFIGHTERS have urged the public not to make hoax calls after responding to a supposed house fire in Melksham.
Trowbridge fire crews got a call that a house in Queensway was going up in flames but when they got there, they realised they had been tricked.
Station manager Guy Tadman said: “Please bear in mind not to put in malicious calls. We are unable to be in two places at once. If we deal with this we cannot deal with a real incident in another part of town.”
The call out was before 4pm on March 18.
