6:14pm Tuesday 19th February 2008 in Melksham By Charley Morgan
AN event in Melksham next month promises a chance to learn about different faiths and cultures and the shared values they have.
Held on the UN Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, the event will be held at the Assembly Hall on Sunday March 16.
There will be stalls representing different faiths and cultures and children's activities including henna tattooing, face painting and board games.
At 6.15pm, people from the Baha'i faith will end their fast and everyone will be invited to share food with them.
There will also be a series of talks and a debate entitled: Can religion play a positive role in removing racial discrimination?' chaired by mayor Cllr Richard Wiltshire.
A quiet area will be provided for Muslims to say their prayers.
Entry is free and anyone is welcome to attend the event, which begins at 3.30pm and runs until 7pm.
For more information contact Farzana or Michael from West Wiltshire Interfaith Group on 07834812663 or (01225) 863626.
