A MELKSHAM-based company is supporting one of the UK's biggest off-road charity events this year in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.
Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe is backing the Mac 4x4 which takes place from March 7-9 and challenges off-roaders from around the UK to take on a 1,000-mile trek across some of the country's most challenging and breathtaking terrain.
The 2007 event raised £108,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support and this year, with the 60 entries filled within just 10 days, organisers are aiming to raise even more.
The tyre company is supporting competitors Carl Liversage, from Hampshire, and Nick Gage, from Surrey, who opted to use Cooper's Discoverer STT tyres for their Mitsubishi Pajero.
"This event means a lot to people who take part, as they or someone they know has been affected by cancer," said Carl.
Cooper Europe managing director Julian Baldwin said: "We're more than happy to get behind Carl and Nick, who are raising money for a great cause by doing something they enjoy."
