A total of £3,754 was awarded to the town council to spend on projects, including £974 to put graphics into empty shop windows to improve the look of the town centre, as well as £800 towards an annual playday for children, planned for August 4 in King George V playing field.
A grant of £980 was also given towards improvements to signs in the car parks and shopping areas, which will include replacing signs at Avon Place Shopping Centre and putting up a lockable, outside cabinet that will house local business maps in the town’s main car park.
