Children from a Melksham primary school will be staging a play about climate change to launch a green roadshow in the town.
Pupils from The Manor Primary School have been preparing for their 20-minute play, called The Ark in the Garage, which is based on the biblical story of Noah’s Ark and will be performed at the school on March 11, from 2.45pm.
The play will mark the start of Wiltshire Wildlife Trust’s Greener Living Roadshow, which will be held at the school and will feature free Fairtrade refreshments, giveaways and freebies, as well as free ‘green’ information.
Emma Harrington, roadshow organiser, said: “It’s inspiring to know that young children feel so strongly about climate change. It sets a good example for the rest of us and makes the school a perfect setting for the roadshow.”
Wiltshire Scrapstore, the Energy Saving Trust, Melksham Community Area Partnership, Hedgerow Honey Farm and Wiltshire Wood Recycling will feature in the roadshow.
