Melksham man faces robbery and assault charges

A Melksham man has been remanded in custody following charges of robbery and assault on the same alleged victim.
James Porter, of Berryfield Park, is said to have robbed the man of £100 on January 13 and assaulted him causing actual bodily harm on the same day.
No charges were formally put to the 24-year-old during the brief hearing at Swindon Crown Court on Friday and he did not enter any pleas.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case to April 30.
