Couple find Seend is perfect location, location, location

Couple Malcolm Shipp and Jenny Dalton found their dream home in Seend thanks to TV property hunters Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer.

And the couple have quickly integrated into village life and are helping with the fete next month.

Mr Shipp, 43, and Miss Dalton, 35, had dismissed a two bedroom cottage off the High Street after viewing it on the internet because it didn't have a driveway.

But when Channel 4's Location Location Location's took on the search for their ideal property the same cottage came up.

The couple, from Chipping Sodbury, were taken to the Grade II listed home in March this year and they fell in love with it.

They were also taken to see a four-bedroom terraced house in Hilperton and a three bedroom house in Melksham but neither matched up to the cottage in Seend. Mr Shipp said: “Nothing much comes up in Seend and certainly nothing that is affordable. Without the programme we wouldn’t have bought the cottage.”

I expect that when the cameras and lights have gone, and the tv show has aired and been forgotten, the couple will turn to eachother and say "why did we let that lumpy mare talk us into buying this dump? we can't even park the car"

ha ha! They'll have to apply for the next series and give Kirsty Allsopp a piece of their mind!

What a shame Roy and Mike you couldn't just be happy for us. We've been here 6 weeks now and love the place more and more each day, the house, the village and the people are all we hoped they would be. We CAN park the car right outside the door and the place is anything but a 'dump'.

Enjoy your day!

Oh we're just having a little josh! Hope you've settled in well, despite the lack of driveway!

Yes, no offence meant from me.
I used to watch the show and felt that Kirsty used to 'lean' on some people on some shows to buy. After all if they buy nothing, she can't do her "ringing the estate agent and acting the negotiator in a loud voice bit" that she loves to do.
I often think, how did it all turn out after the dust settles and some folk begin to see they were rushed through the process for the sake of the show.
About 5yrs ago she was showing a young couple around 3 houses in London, she kept pushing them at one particular house but they didnt buy any. It turned out she owned the house !!!
She owns quite a few I understand.
I hope you have many happy years there.

Should you ever encounter any trouble Roy is the forum resident security expert (also known by many as Cpl "They don't like it up 'em” Jones). Always available to stand guard over your property (or car) in his best Dads Army uniform with nothing but a bag of pork scratchings by way of self-defence. Especially good with marauding machete wielding lunatics. He is also particularly keen at standing his ground should you be cowering for any reason in the cellar. Watch out for his killer verbal putdowns which invariably involve references to the Third Reich…

Seend is however a nice place and I wish you well there. Hopefully you will not require his services…

'lumpy mare'? That's the Honourable Kirstie Allsopp, daughter of a Baronet and Peer you are slagging off there! And you will find she has several websites set up by those who do find her attractive.

Lighten up everyone who does not have the odd niggle to do with a new home and this is a nice area.
