ST George's Primary School in Semington is celebrating after receiving an International School award for the second time.
The award, from the British Council, celebrates the school’s international aspect of teaching and re-accredits the school, which first received the award in 2007. The school had to demonstrate an international aspect to its curriculum: pupils had been involved in an international fortnight in May, forged links with a school in the Dordogne in France and learned about Indian dance, cookery and culture.
Nicola James, the school’s international co-ordinator, said: “A lot of hard work that went into putting this portfolio together, but it was all worth it.
“It is a real recognition of all the school does to contribute to the children’s learning in this international society we live in, especially important in a small rural village school."
